The instructions for the Short URLs module is here: http://mods.postnuke.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1736 There is a link on that page to the zip file for the module.
Read about and download PNphpBB2 from here:
http://mods.postnuke.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=News&file=article&sid=1706
I may be mistaken about it being the 'official' module. It's being developed by the PN team, but I don't think it gets 'official' status until it's fully tested.

Hey linda
Thanks for the response. I downloaded phpBB ver2, phpBBpnmod-F, from phpbb.com which I thought was the one recommended for PN. At this point I don't think this is the "official" version, I think it's the module. Can you point me to the official version and "the short URL module?
TIA

Hi Marv,
Are you using phpBB2, or a postnuke module? If a postnuke module of phpbb, which one, there are several. I think there's an 'official' version now
which will probably integrate better than the others. I haven't upgraded to it as yet, so can't give you any details on it.
Just as an aside, before you get your site too far along, you might want to check into the short URL module, which will make your site more search engine friendly.
