Ok, I've found the answer to it =). Here is the answer just in case anyone is curious. In the page that spawns the iframe use this code.

<iframe id="dataside" src="side.htm" width=120 height=440 marginwidth=2 marginheight=2 hspace=0 vspace=0 frameborder=0 name="dataside" border="0" scrolling="auto" allowtransparency="true" background-color="transparent"></iframe>

on the page that appears transparent use this code in the head

<style type="text/css">
body {background-color: transparent}
</style>

Now I do know a lil about iframes, and the only thing I have not been able to figure out how to do is set the background tranparent so the background on the original html document shows through. Does anyone have any idea's?
