1) absolutely! You put the image as a background, and therefore> but with content:, I think that's the better way:
one can see the text. You either have to switch off the text while you hover, or you don't put the image as a background,
look for the lines where you have something like #html a:hover { background: url("images/valid-html401.gif");
replace the 'background:' with 'content:'

Good idea, but it didn't work when I changed 'background' to 'content'. The images won't even show with 'content'.

Loren's imagelink rollovers worked perfectly, but he had so much code, and I tried by process of elimination to his code to figure out exactly what is making the textlink not show up, but couldn't get it. I'm hoping that if he knows the answer, he'll tell me what it is.
