Unfortunately, I don't think it is. As I understand it, Jack wants to send to printer directly, without going through the print dialogue box. To my knowledge, this isn't possible with cross-browser javascript--which, I suspect, is an *intentional* security feature!
However, internet explorer (as usual) provides ways to break Javascript's security precautions. Faqts.com has an excellent javascript section which includes answers to this very question: see http://www.faqts.com/knowledge_base/view.phtml/aid/9169
for the IE-only solution. If your code has to be cross-browser then, as far as I know, you are out of luck :(
