My Windows XP laptop is in the shop to get an overheating problem
fixed. So the "one of these days when I have time I'll learn how to do
more than check email on my Mac" is here.

I've got Imail configured to check mail but I prefer to send plain
text not html messages. I have found where I can change it on a message
by message basis but I want to change the default. Anyone know how?

I've downloaded the Dreamweaver MX 2004 trial to use until my computer
gets back. I see quite a few interface differences between it and the
Windows version. Hope the new CSS engine is as good as they say since
there isn't TopStyle for the Mac.

All suggestions on getting the mail switched to plain text for the
default and any other tips to make the next 10+/- days easier are
greatly appreciated.

First on my agenda is to switch keyboards. I prefer an ergonomic split
keyboard so I'm making way too many errors with this one

I don't use the mail programme which came with the iMac - couldn't be bothered to go thru the hassle of transering addressbooks/mailboxes etc from Eudora- but it looks as if it's in the Composing menu in preferences which is in the Mail pulldown menu: you get a rich text or plain text option.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of the new Dreamweaver - not being able to see what the CSS is doing without going into the browser is driving me bananas in my DW4: it isn't conducive to a happy learning environment!

I've probably got 30 day copies of Photoshop kicking around if it would help to ease the frustration - my worst nightmare would be having to switch from my Macs to the one pc we own for more than occasional use. Hate having to think about where things are on a computer rather than just getting on with the job...eg where the hell the preferences etc are hidden in the pc version of programmes!
