Hi List, I have a site with a photo contest and I have been checking IP addresses and limiting the voting to once a day. Well, that's not working well as I've been informed that some users have found a way to get a new IP address and vote more than once a day. The informer said that they just had to log off and back on to get a new IP. At first I thought they were going through the bother of rebooting their PC, but now I am thinking that the ones who find this so easy to do are those on dial-up connections. Would this give them a new IP? Our Charter account hangs onto our IP address, so I haven't been able to test this.
Is there an easy way to grab the MAC address? Everything I've read about it makes it sound like a complicated process and something that is way beyond my capabilities.
