The <hr> red lines in my site design work rather well. So it is a
pity Opera renders them as grey. Is there any way to get Opera to
fall in line? I am using CSS for the colour.

Instead of a named color, such as "red", try "#ff0000".

I didn't explain this well. Actually, Opera is the browser that is in line, as the list of CSS named colors is less than the JavaScript and HTML list. I always use the #FF0000 or rgb(100%,0%,0%) formats now, to avoid using a name that won't work as a CSS name, such as "darkred".

Regards,
David
