We are setting up an application where users will be entering links into a
db, and we need a way to check them to make sure they are good. Being a
header novice, I can imagine it but don't know how to start. Using php, is
there a way to send a request for the linked file and read returned headers
to find out if a link was good or bad?

Thanks for any pointers.
