You want the Adobe Reader plugin, and it gets installed on a PC when Adobe Reader (free pdf reader) is installed. For visitors who don't already have Reader installed, all you need to do is put a little button on your page linking to where they can download a copy from Adobe. If you go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readermain.html you'll see the button on the page that you can copy, and it links to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html where your visitors can download the reader.
