Intriguing. No such option exists in my version of Outlook Express (6.00.2600.0000). In fact, I checked all the tabs available in the Options dialog and this choice does not appear anywhere. What version of Outlook Express are you using? Actually, I have wondered for some time why this common-sense toggle hasn't been included in the OE clients. As much heat as MS takes for its shyte security, you'd think something like this would be de rigeur for any OE upgrades. > it's not just scripting you have to worry about > > it's images > > yes, images > > reading all messages in plain text prevents downloading "web bugs" Well, yes, but those are not virus threats, simply spammer's tools to gather information on who has opened their messages. Fortunately, I don't have to avoid images, since I receive a number of (subscribed to) catalogs online, as well as developers' and general interest newsletters containing images. However, SpamSleuth intercepts messages containing Web bugs before they're ever downloaded, while leaving my desired content (marked variously as "Friend," "Newslist," etc.) available for download.
