Most of the time that happens the way to stop it is to update the version of office on the computer having the problem. I forgot which version of Windows and Office it is that triggers it but updating to the latest service pack seems to stop it.
If that isn't an option you'll need to either zip up the document or convert it to rtf, pdf or some other format. Cheryl D.
