Tis I again with ongoing problems... I had managed to get everything working on the server and rejoiced in sending and receiving e-mail. Then last night some lil spam bugger relayed a few thousand mails through the server. Suffice it to say I'm not best pleased about this, especially now that refining the security settings on the server to keep unauthorised access out has now stopped me from receiving mail.
Every time I send an e-mail to the new address it keeps getting bounced back with the following message: Connected to [server's IP] but sender was rejected. Remote host said: 505 5.7.3 Client was not authenticated Which says to me that the outgoing mail server trying to deliver the message is being bounced because it's not authorised to access the receiving server. As far as I can see though I've not restricted access to deliver mail to the server so why are things bouncing? A secondary problem to this is that as soon as I restrict e-mail replaying in any way I then cannot send any e-mails either, but without relay restrictions I'm getting shafted by the spammers. Somebody spare me the madness!
