I am sending out resumes and was told to burn a cd to send with my resume/cv. What do I put on it? Is it just a little presentation about me or about my work or . . . . ??
A personal view:
I receive CVs on CDs, and I never play them unless I am convinced that there is something compelling on them, such as samples of work that obviously cannot go into a printed CV. Even then, for developers, this work will probably be available on the Web and the printed version can include the URLs. If you want to include a searchable version of your CV, then I think that this is best done on your personal site, with a reference to it in your printed version.
Some performers and choreographers include videos of their work on CVs, which meets my 'compelling' requirement. They usually provide a printed list of them. But on the whole, something like a text version of your CV should be avoided.
If you really must send a CD, make it a full size one.
Regards, David
