Hi Cronan

I have set up my virtual directory using Win XP Pro and installed IIS.
Steps:
1. Install Windows components > Networking > TCP/IP Services
This must be installed before installing IIS.

2. Install IIS
   Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs > Add/Remove
Windows Components > Internet Information Services (IIS)

3. Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Internet Information Services > DEFAULT (local
computer) > Web Sites > Default Web Site > then, on the top menu, choose Action > New > Virtual Directory > Virtual Directory Creation Wizard - follow instructions.

Alias : 1Web
Path : c:\1Web
I keep all internet directories and files in that directory.

then, choose Read, Run Scripts (such as ASP), Write, and Browse.

After completing the Virtual Directory Creation Wizard, go to your Browser and type in:
http://localhost/

This will give you a list of all directories in your Virtual Directory, which in my case is the directories located in C:\1Web.

If my steps are not helpful, I can send you off line, the IIS steps located in IIS/HELP.

Hi,

I am having trouble doing something I would have
thought would be fairly straightforward.

I have a project which I wish to copy from Source Safe
into my local Inetpub/wwwroot directory (did i mention
I am using IIS on win 2k?), and create a virtual
directory pointing to this content.

After that I wish to create a new project in Interdev
(curse it to hell) by connecting to a new web
application on localhost (i.e. what I have downloaded
from source safe).

I just can't do it!!!
I have done this several times before.
I think I have set my front page server extensions
(necessary apparently) up correctly.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Cronn
