I've got a Western Digital USB 2 that I am very happy with. All I had to do was plug it into the USB port and it worked right out of the box.
They do make a model that has built-in back-up either scheduled or at the touch of a button but I haven't tried it. I've been burned too many time by back-ups that used proprietary formats and failed to restore properly. So I didn't even want to try one out. I've also used Drive Image in the past to make images of the entire drive (backed up to either an external drive or DVD) but since Symantec bought them I haven't tried it. I wasn't a fan of Ghost though some people swear by it. Cheryl D. I've checked the fans and they seem fine so I'm thinking I have a drive that's getting ready to go. That puts me in a bit of a hurry for a better solution than the multiple mis-placed disks solution. :) Cheryl, do you have any recommendations on an external drive, which one are you using and are you happy with it? Anyone else have any suggestions? ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To set a personal password send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the words: "set WDVLTALK pw=yourpassword" in the body of the email.
