does anyone have advice as to which to work from, the download or the disc?

It's downloaded now so you might as well use the download. The CD version will be the full file set for SP2, the downloaded version is the file set specific to your installation.


If you are concerned about somebody's buggered around with the files on M$'s site then by all means use the CD copy.

While I'm on the subject however, anybody know how to delete the setup files Windows Update has downloaded once the patches been installed? I know the extracted files get wiped when the install is done, but I'm accumulating an awful lot of junk now with these downloaded archive.

I bought a couple of 250Mb drives for my work, not as a Windows Update mirror ;)
