Make sure you are logged in with admin privileges. Also, just to make sure we are on the same page MSN Messenger will not be on the Add/Remove list, you have to click the Windows component icon on the left side of the list. While there you might want to remove MSN Explorer as well, I doubt you will ever use it. Something for those who like AOL's hand holding interface for the web.
You can also look under Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services and disable Windows messenger as well (set it either to manual or disable in the properties) that prevents another type of messenger spam from reaching your system. Be careful about what you disable because it can screw up your system if you turn the wrong thing off though. Cheryl D. Search won't turn messenger up either. I've just put in blinkx and that doesn't seem able to find it. OH!! silly silly me (I've been concentrating on the css for my site among other things - well that's my excuse). OK I think I have done the right things, but MS doesn't tell you if it has installed or uninstalled the windows stuff. If I read aright messenger was not installed anyway! I had kept setting use blank for the homepage and that brings a blank after a restart, but each time after a second restart up comes msn. So I've done a blank, and then followed your tip to use current. I'll let you know if that doesn't work. And now I have (I think) uninstalled msn browser. As for the foam, it may have come from that beverage! ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Send Your Posts To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To set a personal password send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the words: "set WDVLTALK pw=yourpassword" in the body of the email.
