What OS? Which email client? What was the actual format of the attachment?

Hi all,
I just switched to SBC Yahoo! DSL and I am having problems with attachments. I wrote to Yahoo! but they just sent me back an e-mail with instructions on how to use e-mail!!!
My problem is this: when I try and save the attachment, it prompts to save it as ShowTimes.htm - they weren't even HTML files. When I do save it as that, the file won't open after saving. When I change the name and save, I get a message saying that the file was corrupted.
Any ideas anyone?
