If you put the genuine email addresses in there, then you should have received the test email that it sent? I don't think the 'from:' has to be a real address but of course the 'to:' does or it cannot reach you. The next question, if you can send email from IIS in this way, is how the database program is doing it. Remember that whatever from: email address you are using in those emails will have to be allowed to relay by your SMTP server.
