Our SIG is part of the Houston Area League of PC Users which has something
like 2,000 members. The various web related SIGs have a total membership of
around 200 but mine in theory has 96. That's the number of people who
subscribe to the mail list but it is rare for us to have more than 20-25
members at a meeting.

Website: http://webtechsig.org for the web technologies SIG and
http://www.hal-pc.net for the user group.

thanks for the info on meetup.com. I had never heard of it. On checking,
there is another web design group for my city already there! And one of our
members belongs! It only has 6 members-- so I am now trying to research why
they felt the need for a separate group (perhaps they didn't know about us
before starting up)

Anyway, you said you belong to a SIG--can you give me any details of how
successful this group is, what they do, etc. Do they have a web site?
