Also, I noticed that you have javascript to preload your images, but you haven't mentioned the images in your <body>, nor have you set up the corresponding <img info> etc. I think all will download faster if you put the corresponding info in your html pages, OR, just slicing up your logo might be all you need. Try that, and if it doesn't improve, I can give you all the "preload info and paragraphs, etc." that you can use.
Also, you can check out the download time on any html page by going to
http://www.netmechanic.com/toolbox/html-code.htm. You can checked each page for free if you do it one at a time, or you can pay. The download testing is for dial up/dsl, and 2 others I think.
