Hi, Deb. I think you're correct in your assessment. From looking at the code, it appears that someone used Dreamweaver's WYSIWYG table layout mode for a "quick-and-dirty." The code's a mess (trying to visualize all those nested tables from the code could give a person gastric spasms pretty quickly) and would be a regular PITA to modify and maintain. As straightforward as the site seems to be, and since the content is pretty much ready to go, you could probably start over and do the job properly with standards compliant HTML and CSS in less time than it would take to muck about with what's already there. And when you get done, it will be a piece of cake to do any future mods, content updates, design changes, etc. compared to what's there.

Have at it, and remember that if you run into something you would like clarification on, there's a pretty good group of folks here ready and willing to offer any assistance you might wish.

Cheers,
Scott

Sorry for the muddy request. Scott you have nailed what I was looking at
with the structure of the page. I was trying to line up the menus and the
tan-brown-yellow-green-etc. horizontal rule.

My initial thought was to scrap what is there and start over.

Thank you for taking a look.

Deb

Thank you, Riva. I was wondering if it was just me. (BTW, I don't get
scrollbars either.)

Debra, you need to be a little clearer about what it is you're after. First,

there is no "the" table. There are seven in total: one outer container table

for everything, one upper table containing two more tables with the
horizontal menus, the middle table, also containing a table with the
locations menu, and the lower single-cell table with the deja vu/Psychic
Reader identity stuff. Also, there are several graphics: the CDM logo, the
Psychic Newsreader, the "square rose" at the top, the main content of the
center table, and that tan-brown-yellow-green-etc. horizontal rule under the

top table (which I'm guessing is the "graphic that divides"), which
constrains the outer table minimum width to 708px. What exactly are you
trying to line up?
