Consider constructing a view that includes the TotalBilled and Percentage columns (and heck, you could add a ranking column even if you want) and then do your select queries off the view instead.

I tried to keep the original question as straightforward as possible).
I appreciate I'm going to have to build the entire ranking table at some point, as without it there's no way of knowing what rank my client is. What I was hoping is that I could build it, scan it, and have the rank returned as another just another column in my results, rather than having to build the ranking table and see which row my client ends up in with a separate query.
I have a feeling I should be reading up on creating temporary tables...
