Ah crud... you're running win 98, aren't you? Jeez, it's been so long that I'd have no idea how to set directory permissions in that OS. You might try googling the phrase "directory permissions windows 98" though. If that yields nothing useful, you can always bring a bit of *nix to your windows environ (makes me a bit saner person) via CygWin:

http://cygwin.com/

This allows you to run basic *nix commands inside windows. The install is rather easy, IMO, just download it (http://cygwin.com/setup.exe) and run it with the basic options selected. It'll run out and fetch all the necessary goodies. Once it's on your comp, just run it and navigate to the directory in question and you can issue your chmod command.

might look something like this:

cd /cygdrive/c/inetroot/httproot/examplesite/

chmod 777 exampledir -R

The only thing non-standard there is the /cygdrive/ bit... it's how CygWin overlays Unix nomencalture on Windows...

anyway, hope that helps. keep us informed.

Stephen,

I would if I could, but there is no securities tab! Only 'sharing' and
'customise', neither of which leads on to greater things. I know I have
seen it but I've hunted for a tab to change things and nothing so far!!!

(I had also tried with AVG and ZoneA turned off)
