you just haven't worked with sql enough to know the pain that separate year,
month, day columns will bring
you mentioned that you want 1/365th of the entries each day
i'm betting that's not really what you want -- you probably want to pull all
rows where the birthday corresponds to tomorrow, or something
1/365th of the entries is not the way to go about it
oh, and do not listen to anyone who tells you to use unixtimes

and *require* you to convert -- always!! -- in order to
manipulate them, or even display them!!
True, but it also means that they work across almost all languages,
making it easier to change and develop in future.
