I'm unsure of the answer to your 'no inherit' question, but for your audio
question, I recently purchased, and became an affiliate for, what is
rapidly becoming the best value for the money for web audio solutions. You
can have mp3 (or Ogg) files play at page load, or be triggered with full
control by the viewer (IMHO, the best choice is to give the viewer the
control - I hate hitting a page that immediately begins playing music,
myself.) You can even link different audio files and play them one after
the other - or, let the viewer choose the playing order.

This package covers everything - even putting together custom narrated
slide shows and setting 'trigger' points during an audio presentation to
actually control what the viewer sees when you want them to see it. The
uses for this are limited only by the imagination.
