Hmm, I don't have a bandwidth limit on my transfers with my dsl but I don't
really see a downside for you. Unless you have to sign a minimum term
contract you can always go back to dial-up if you find the bandwidth isn't
enough and additional bandwidth costs are too great.

Having had broadband I find it very painful when I have to use anything
else.
