Hi,

I have switched over to password protecting my XP Home edition computer. I now have 2 accounts (thanks for that tip, Mark!) and this is working very well. However, I need to do one more thing and I hope you all can help me.

When viewing the Windows Logon screen in the lower right corner are the words:

"After you logon, you can add or change accounts. Just go to the Control Panel and click User Accounts"

Well, nothing like telling the non-techie people you are trying to keep out of your system how to bypass this if you do happen to leave your computer open, is my thought. I need to know where I can edit this wording (remove it!) as I don't want that to show.

I have tried using the basic logon where you don't get the Welcome Screen but instead just the plain little logon popup window, but that means I can't use the Fast User Switch option. At least not that I can tell. I've tried setting a password protect on my screensaver which works fine as long as it's a default Windows screensaver - my own favorite screensaver doesn't work by requiring a password - it just allows access like a password doesn't exist. Me changing my screensaver would be a dead give-away that I'm up to something.

So, I moved to Plan C ... I have the 2 user optionset that gives me the Fast User Logoff/on in the Start menu. All I then have to do when I leave my desk is logoff and that bypasses the problem w/the screensaver by giving me the logon screen. The screensaver will not require a password unless the system has been idle and in screensaver mode for the 15min I have set it to go to screensaver mode. Well, around here 15 minutes non-protected is to long. Clicking in the screensaver manually works the same way, requiring a password to get out of it - but again if it's not been 15 min it won't require the password to get back in. During this open time frame any snoop that has noted those lines of text on the bottom right of the screen now knows how to manipulate the User Accounts in the Control Panel. I hope I'm making sense!

If I can find where to edit that those lines of text I would feel ohhhhhhhh soooooooo much better.
