I use spam assassin on my server to tag the spam by adding spam to the subject line. I then filter all spam emails into a folder in Outlook. There I skim quickly before dumping because no matter how good your filters are there will be false positives. Almost lost a new contract because the spam filters tagged it and I don't to throw away thousands of dollars to avoid a minor inconvenience.
All things considered I get relatively little spam on a email address that is widely available on the net and was in fact in my signature line for years as well as available on several different websites. I consider it a nuisance just like all the adverts, etc. that I receive in my mailbox (especially my business P.O. Box) but that's it. Cheryl D. You download headers into mailwasher, and delete those obviously spam. Over time you also build a blacklist set which cuts spam out. Test the free version (which I think is for one address). There are also places which filter a lot of spam before it hits the server, but mailwasher lets you keep your current address. ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: [email protected] To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
