I was having trouble getting images to display on my pc platform (not the
mac) with a certain page i am working on, so I stripped it to the barest
minimum, the source being:

and the images DO NOT show up -- not even in the source code -- in Firefox,
IE or Netscape on my PC. And yes, I have my images turned on. The problem
appears to be with these specific images, as the others show up. I have
resaved the images, restarted the computer, cleared cache, but....
the source shows up like this:
