Okay! The first thing I should have been told when asking what I should be
doing was to get my files right ;-/ . So I have now 'subscribe.php' in
the blog script root. But it will now only come up with
("/usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/looperman-is-ready.com/httpdocs/Toilet_Humor/blog/subscribe.php"),
and that is with both ssi and php.
BUT... though the form now appears in the sidebar with the privacy notice
[short-lived hurrrah!], nothing else then does [a link 'return to' blog just
loops to the same state] AND the sidebar is displaced to the right by
inches! I have tried the way (ssi) in the plugin instructions, and
variations of Perry's advice, and with Mark's suggestions and noting advice
from Cheryl and Dan.
So, while Gremlins 'r' Us has played about there does seem to be a problem
beyond my technical competence (which doesn't mean a lot...); at least i
now know that the form can be called.

The above should get it for you.
You have to come up out of your current directory, then down into
the directory that has your include file.
