That works nicely [it throws the end of the sidebar text a bit over the
edge, but I'm going to quit on this while I'm ahead!]. I can't see what is
taking up room withte form since it is given the narrow column css and put
in the wide column...
Eventually I worked out what my problem with this has been. There are two
operating files and both had been unploaded to their right places
originally. For reasons which I cannot discover the one with the form had
got deleted and I hadn't realised, nor looked for it.
Even when I made copies of the plug in to check, it at first (several times)
came up without this file - see what I mean about gremlins! Not till I
went back to the readme did I realise.
Sorry for appearing a bigger idiot than I really am ;-)

It's in the CSS somewhere, adding a float:right to the sidebar clears
whatever it is pushing it down:
