That's right Todd, it was a few days ago when that fetchingly uninformative
window pops up and says let us install this new bit - or else. So I did
and it did. [security update, 3.3.06]
So far as I know it reported that all had gone well; I had two big
downloads [asking a lot of dialup] that it reported as 'done' when both were
several magabytes short of a hard disc.
One has successfully repeated since, but started from an empty file, rather
than pick up where it left off. The options I've found for download don't
seem to include resumption. I have the two files before me, sizes 14.3mb
and 363kb (!!! that was downloading for quite a while!!!)

Joseph -
Did you have a particular extension installed that didn't get updated? I
did the udpates about two days ago, and mine's been working fine. Don't
go
running away yet!!! :)

Subject: [wdvltalk] [OT] firefox downloads not resuming
Before the latest update Firefox would resume interrupted downloads. Now
it doesn't, and even worse, it pretends a download is completed when it
(mostly) isn't. Is this the end of firefox as we know it, or should I be
crawling though the tunnels and wires to make a choice somewhere?
