Peter,
I suspect I am at fault, but as I write this the phone line is in service
for other things [and nobody say broadband] so I can't check. I found
that Areader update download was hogging the alternate dialup window.
Most of the time it seems not to matter which is used to dial up, but just
now and again firefox or OE or some other crabby prog sulks until the
other window gets clicked. thre may be a logic to it, but I don't see
it. Usually I check for the possibility, but hadn't suspected the
download!
If you don't hear more that will have been the answer; if it isn't you
will hear more...

Can't suggest why Firefox won't open your pages - I've been using it
for about two years - maybe more - without any problems apart from the
fact that MS won't let you download updates via it! It opens anything
else I want including pages udner development, no problem. I'm using
XP Pro on a 3.1GHz m/c with 512k RAM.

refusing to open any! IE, malignerd thogh it might be, is opening
them happily [yes, same urls], and I'm not talking any unsafe places,
Javascript block, Adbolck or anything else of that sort.
Has anyone any ideas on what might be confounding, confusing or
otherwise disrupting firefox?
