Well, my brainstorm amounted to nothing! I installed Eudora on my second machine and cross checked the Registries before (to see what was there if anything) and after. Before there was no Qualcomm folder. After there was one with a Eudora subfolder and inside that a Command Line folder! No comparison with the structure on the old machine!

Having wasted two days messing with this I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to V7. (there arfe other issues for me - time being money just one of them) That's now installed and working fine with the same (apparent) Registry Folder structure as the older version 6.2.3! I can't see a single character different!

Bring back the carrier pigeon I say!

Peter,

What version of Eudora are you running? I looked inside my registry entries for Qualcomm/Eudora and find no "Launch..." entry. However, I've been running Eudora version 4.2.2 for over five years now, having never seen the need for any more features than I already have.

Some of my mailboxes (I have hundreds, plus dozens of "Personalities") are over 30 Meg each. Earlier versions used to give me fits when the mailboxes got too large and would result in that type of error.

One interesting thing I discovered with version 4.2.2 is that once it is installed, you can just move the "Qualcomm" folder from the "Program Folders" directory onto a CD or DVD and then copy it into the "Program Files" directory on another system without going through the install process and it works! I discovered this when I switched from Win98 to XP. I moved it several times this way over the years - every time I upgrade to a later OS or move to a faster computer. I don't know if versions later than 4.2.2 will work this way or not, but mine does.

Good luck,

I'm having problems opening Eudora. I get a message flashing across

Eudora must shut down"...

Thanks all.
