Well, my client actually meant that he is looking for companies who do the directory submissions for you. Any ideas on that?
everything i've heard is that a company which submits your site to search engines and/or directories knows less about your client's business than your client, and further, that you can do as good a job yourself even if you just manage to submit to the three or four major search engines
as i said earlier, specialized directories (e.g. for a market niche) should already be known to you or your client, and you can submit to those quite readily
