My boss has an external sea_gate drive and wants me to test if her back up is working and also make sure I know how to restore from the back up if I have to. I looked at the drive on her computer (I connect virtually) and the latest date I see is 11/20. Any ideas, advice, etc?

Before I did anything I would check the instructions. Some have an auto restore feature if you want to restore an entire system. For restoring a folder or file etc ... not an entire system, mine has a restore built into the right click so I open the most current backup (or whichever I want - I just mousehover to find date and time of a file/folder) and right click the file/folder I need and click restore. It then offers me the option to restore to the same folder or I can select a new location to restore it to. I love my external. It's the best thing I ever did for my puter and me and has saved my butt a number of times. Don't forget you may need to delete the older backups weekly, monthly or whenever it's getting full.
