Make sure you burn a set of recovery dvds (or cds depending on which your system makes) if your machine did not come with them before you do anything else. The reason some computers ship as FAT 32 instead of NTFS is so that you can boot to a recovery partition to reinstall the OS, etc. if something gets screwed up badly. Most of them use a Windows 98 boot to access the partition and you can't accesses NTFS from a Windows 98 bootable disk.
Great suggestion, but oh my! Then does that mean I will not be able to use the reformat feature that comes installed (WinXP) if I do this?
