It's Flash RAM instead of a traditional hard drive, which means significantly faster I/O access and significantly reduced power consumption (i.e. extends battery life).
In all honest however don't bother right now. Pure Flash drives are too small and too expensive to be of any significant use at the moment, and the Hybrid drives offer no performance or battery life gains (and Windows Vista is required).
