I doubt you will get media functions in XP Media Center in a virtual machine since it requires access specific hardware directly which VMS don't give you.. Media Center was-is only available OEM and you can only by OEM with qualifying hardware purchase (system builders but video cards, hard drives and in some cases even upgrading ram counts). Try Tiger Direct or other some for building your own computer.
Personally I would go with Vista Home Premium which has full media capabilities much better than XP: Though I actually run Vista Ultimate on our Meiden Center and under Parallels on my Mac. FWIW, all new Macs ship with Vista drivers as part of bottoms. Not sure if XP drives slip with it or not. But not before I get my hands on a legal full version copy of WinXP preferably the Media Edition so I can run it in VM Fusion on the Mac. I have only so far been able to locate OEM and "for system builders" versions and upgrades. Does anyone know where I can purchase a legal copy? I can't even find it on the MS site! ____ The WDVL Discussion List from WDVL.COM ____ To Join wdvltalk, Send An Email To: mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] or use the web interface http://e-newsletters.internet.com/discussionlists.html/ Send Your Posts To: [email protected] To change subscription settings, add a password or view the web interface: http://intm-dl.sparklist.com/read/?forum=wdvltalk ________________ http://www.wdvl.com _______________________ You are currently subscribed to wdvltalk as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe via postal mail, please contact us at: Jupitermedia Corp.
