U.S. Navy Turns to Internet to Manage Construction Projects

The United States Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC),
which oversees $500 million in construction projects annually, will soon
be installing software to manage the Navy's construction projects via the
Internet. The organization has ordered 200 ActiveProject software
licenses from Framework Technologies.

According to a spokesperson from Framework Technologies, the
Midwest Regional Contracting Office of NAVFAC will initially deploy
ActiveProject, a Web-based project collaboration and communication
solution, on three separate construction projects this year -- the facilities
management of a $65 million residential project, the design/build of a
Navy Exchange retail store and a combat training pool.
