You know, I have been wondering for some time if us Web Designers are
skewing all these numbers.

I'm running NS3.0, NS4.0 standalone, and IE4.0. My business partner has
NS3.0, NS3.0 Communicator, and IE 3.0. On our mac we have NS 3.0 and 4.0
plus AOL and IE 4.0. I often go to a web page in one browser, then copy the
link and check out the page in another browser because 1) the
java/javascript broke, 2) there was a blatant "best viewed in" note, or 3)
I want to see if it looks any different. So, if one of the popular sites
starts using cool CSS stuff, I'll look at it in almost every browser and
platform, just to compare how it looks before copying the code to my "learn
how to do this" file. I really doubt Joe Average looks at pages in multiple
browsers just out of curiousity, but since every Joe Average is trying to
*become* a professional Web Designer....well, like I said, I wonder if
those numbers actually apply to the general population, or if us designers
have skewed things somehow.

Anyway, just a random thought for a lazy Thursday afternoon.
