Yeah, I would say that iserver sets a standard. I am also impressed with
hiway.net and pair.com has always seemed good.

Are there any good companies that do co-location? I have heard of a lot but I
haven't seen any I like. Most of them do not post prices (I don't want to wonder
how much the preson in the seat next to me paid; I had enough haggling in my
life already). I would like to see pictures of the NOC (must be 24X7), with exact
and explicit method of operation; like how the connect to the net, backup,
gasoline powered generators or what...?

Iserver offers a great co-location plan; you must use their computers and O/S
(bsdi although I think they do NT as well). Their argument for using their
computers makes a lot of sense: a lot of spare parts and experience and ditto
that for O/S. But gee are they expensive. I am looking for someone who could
colocate my box for around US$10 per IP address with a minimum of US$200
per month. I should only have to worry about bandwidth if I have a site where I
need not worry about bandwidth. All these bandwidth meters scare me. I can
understand the need but I also know that I could run someone's bill up in a
hurry with a program that just blasted your site. Iserver claims no limit on
bandwidth...but I see that as impossible and as misleading as unlimited dial-up
offered by so many ISP's. I almost prefer the attitude of "..well we don't charge
but if you consume too much on a sustained basis then we would have to
change the contract..." - that I could live with.

Just some thoughts. I have said it before, I would use iserver to host a domain
but I would like a co-located box to act as a database server since disk space
is so expensive at places like iserver (and hiway and pair and the price must be
high).
