I've always found Navigator (any version) prone to crashing,
unfortunately, but it does seem to be getting better, at least on my
system. Two tricks that seem to help: A) create a RAM disk (via the
Memory control panel) and save all your cache files there (seems to speed
up reloading... subjective measurement only); B) keep a locked duplicate
of a known good Navigator Preferences file. When NN bombs, the Prefs file
(found under System:Preferences:Navigator users:[yourNameHere]) is often
damaged (making future crashes even more likely). Recovery time is vastly
improved when you're able to simply delete the old Prefs and replace them
with an exact copy of the old settings.
