Was tinkering this morning with some ideas for a major overhaul of my
hometown site, and got to fiddling with various Javascript "image rollover"
effects.
To my considerable surprise, I discovered after some experimentation that
I was able to get an onMouseover of a single image to load *two* new
images, in two parts of the page... didn't think this was possible. But
apparently it is.
I guess this may sound kind of confusing, so go see what I mean at
http://www.almonte.com/new/
I've tested this only on NS 3.0 and 4.05, Win95, so don't know how/if it
works on other platforms. And obviously it won't work at all on MSIE 3.
As an aside, the page is in its very early draft stages, and none of the
links go anywhere, etc etc. Also, I'm not preloading the images at this
point, so there may be delays in displaying the images. This is purely a
preliminary test of the dual rollover idea. But anyway, I thought some of
you might find the general technique interesting.
