drive...

|
| Well.. What type of CD is it ? EIDE or SCSI ? When you
| installed it, didn't it find the CD ?
|
| Also, are you trying to mount the drive as something other than
| root ? I believe that it is installed such that you must be root
| to mount the CD ROM.
My CD-ROM is EIDE. Ran the Installation program for RedHat via DiskDruid.
Since it read the installation data from the CD-ROM, I am guessing that it
originally read the data all right... at first.
Previously, In order to read the info on my CD-Rom drive, while in root, I
just had to select my drive in X-Windows, click "Mount" and the information
could then be read. /mnt/cdrom/ would actually show all the files listed
under it...
My Windoze Hard-drive is hda. Linux is now using hdb. And when I first boot
up my computer, it claims to have mounted HDC, my CD-Rom drive, and lists
its stats.
But when I go into X-Windows, in fstools, and press the button marked
"mount", the error message is that /etc/...something.../fstab or mstab
doesn't have HDC listed as a device... and looking at the file (but not
touching or saving anything) I noticed, nope! No entry for HDC.
Sheesh! And I thought connecting to an ISP was hard! ;}
