I've been waiting for the pain to subside but it just gets deeper. Jason
Jesse Silverberg passed away on 7/14/98 at the age of 13. He was my son,
my friend and my joy in life. His passing has left a deep wound and
emptiness. Jason was blessed in many ways, one of which was to live in a
neighborhood of true friends and neighbors. The neighbors held a memorial
today since they did not get a chance to say goodbye.
I'd like to share with you a poem written by one of the neighbors about Jason.

           JASON

 LOVING, GENEROUS, CARING
When you smiled the world smiled.
  HAPPY, CAREFREE, and KIND
When you laughed we all laughed.
  TRICKSTER, SHOWMAN, CLOWN -
You really knew how to put on a show !

Like a delicate little flower you sprang into being.
You grew, you learned, you thrived.
You were a child of the sun - not shadow.
You were a gift of love and light.
You have taught us about G-D's blessings.
You have shown each one how to care.
With all your love and understanding -
     of things sometimes not clear.
You've shown us a way filled with meaning

You have taught us Why We're Here.

Thanks to all who sent their condolences by e-mail, phone,
and mail. It was heartwarming to have the thoughts and feelings of so many
with me at this time.

                    Al Silverberg
