I'm really intrigued by all the interesting books folks have been
discovering. For my part, I'd like to recommend a couple of magazines:

Brill's Content. Issue 2 is out, issue one had a *huge* article on Ken
Starr and the media. Issue two deals a lot with the repercussions of that
first issue. Very intriguing. All about media responsibility, lies in
advertising, etc. Well written, thoughtful, and interesting. Considering
how the speed of information on the net has changed reporting, and how
sites like Drudge Report have affected both new and old media, I see this
one as required reading for anyone getting involved in
building/writing/maintaining a site that has content other than basic
corporate info. Those of you thinking about doing any writing should
*definitely* read through at least one issue, to see how issues about fact
checking and total disclosure can play havoc in a writer's life/work.

Business 2.0. All about the supposed "new" economy that's come about due to
the Internet. If your company may someday look for venture funding, or if
you're thinking of building an empire, you should probably read this. It
isn't dull, but it does get a little rabid at times.

Fast Company. Fun, but tiring at times. Good info on being an independant
contractor, building brands, and marketing yourself. Also a little rabid.

New Media. They recently redesigned and I can't tell the ads from the
content, but as always this one has the right info on technologies coming
down the pike and the pros/cons of running any sort of a multimedia company.

That's the top of my reading pile. I read a lot of magazines -- pile 'em up
by my desk and read while I'm downloading new versions of software.
