Actually, Chad, speaking from experience, he'll probably say, "Here, take these muscle
relaxers to relieve the pain. They might make you sleepy....you awake? Chad? Chad?
Wake up!" Or something like that. I've had a long history of back pain, and spend most
of most days in at least minor pain - and have never succeeded in getting a new spinal
cord.
That is LOUSY timing. But if it makes you feel better, I once tripped on someone's
backpack and strained my lower back REALLY bad - the day before finals started. The
doc gave me muscle relaxers, said, "I think you're going to be okay," & then asked if
I had a boyfriend. I said no, & he said, "You should." Why? "So you could call him and
say, "Dr. Baruda says I'm going to be okay!" I think that was his name. If that's a
bad insult in Spanish, I'm sorry :P It was something like that. Anyway, I managed to
survive, I graduated a week later (still enjoying the muscle relaxers), and life went
on.
But it's a real drag. I hope your back gets better. A good chiropractor or a good
licensed massage therapist (LICENSED is the operative word here - not a massage parlor
:>) can probably help quite a bit, if you can afford it. If there's a massage school
in town, they often have discounted services, and you'd be amazed what deep tissue
work can do for back muscles.

Well, on day 5 now of this nagging back ache ... been taking back pills to
eleviate the pain during the day. Probably should go to the on-campus
health clinic and have a doctor look at it ....
Knowing my luck though, he will probably say "We need to remove your
spinal cord and replace it with a new one."
Lousy timing ... class just started last week here.
