If all you want is "notepad on steroids", check out NoteTab Pro (shareware
at $9.95US) or Super NoteTab ($5.00US) at http://www.notetab.ch/ for the
best notepad replacements I've run across for the Windoze system. NoteTab
Pro is practically unlimited in size of docs and number of open docs, fully
customizable, and comes with HTML tag macros and other programming
macros included. It sits in the system tray and can completely replace
notepad. The price is unbelievable for all the features in it. The Super
NoteTab is limited to 2 meg files, I believe, but is quicker and doesn't have
quite as many features. A full-featured 30 day trial version is available
from
their website. I've tried a multitude of text editors trying to find one
with all
the features of one I used to use on the Mac (name currently escapes me),
but until I found this, none of them even came close. NoteTab not only
matches the old Mac TE, but exceeds it! Give it a try and let me know how
